It is currently undergoing renovations and I'm sure when it's open again it will be an even more worthwhile visit. It gives an interesting glimpse into the 1800s life of Abraham Lincoln in Springfield. The place is a nice short visit, a little dark and I hope that with the renovation still be able to make it even more interesting.
I have walked this site on previous visits. I am happy that renovations are being done and hope to see the results on my next visit in October. This is also the start of the ghost tour which goes on at 7:00pm.
I have been here before, but when we returned 9/17/16, it was closed for renovation. There is nothing indicating this was the old law office. I am sure it will reopen soon and it would probably be worth stopping in again. Across the street from the Old State Capitol.
Currently you can only view the exterior of the building. It was insightful to see where this office is in relation to the old state capitol and the Lincoln residence. It helps to visualize the community in which the Lincolns lived and loved.
Apparently the house has been closed for quite a while (from the looks of everything). Why would any city do renovations during tourist season? Really hated to miss it.

However, it's still a nice picture opportunity Even though Lincoln had several offices while practicing law for about 25 years, this is the only building that still stands. Lincoln took on Herndon as a junior partner around 1844. They moved to another location in 1852. Take some pictures and feel the... 更多
this used to be open for tours when I was a kid because I remember coming here with my Dad and so I was disappointed to not be able to offer that to my own kids now. It is still neat to stop by and if you are in the area vising the Old State Capital, it is conveniently located... 更多
It was nice to see the outside, but we were told at another Lincoln landmark that the state of Illinois has had no budget and no available money, so this is closed until further notice. It was worth the walk over to take the pictures though. There is a nice Lincoln family statue outside in front of the building.
We saw this after leaving the Lincoln Museum and were a bit disappointed to find it closed, but it was still interesting to see where Lincoln had worked. The area around it was very nice and we enjoyed seeing all the shops.
Closed for renovations right now. You can not see anything of importance looking in the window even. You may only view from the outside at this time.
