We love to go to the John Muir site for Earth Day. They have a big celebration. They open parking up at the high school just down the street and have buses running to pick up and drop off. Lots of booth and kid interactive things. The house is open to walk through on your own. Love it!
I'm a huge fan of Muir so to visit this place was great personally. The tour guide of the house Jack is very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour, it was also fun to pick his brain and talk about Muir with him. We got very lucky and went on a rainy day where there weren't any tours scheduled... 更多
The Muir Site is close to where I live and I take visitors to it whenever I can. The home is decorated with many of Muir's own items and in period. The grounds are lovely to walk. Get a docent-led tour or use the phone app - the more information you have, the more interesting the tour.
As a naturalist and life long lover of John Muir and his writings, this was a really fun place to visit. They offer a self guided tour via a phone number where you can learn about the property. Going into the mansion is really interesting, and getting up into the bell tower up top offers some great views of the... 更多
Beautiful place, a variety of trails for families. Very accessible for a range of abilities, from older people to young children. The area wasn't crowded at all when we went.
The John Muir house is one of those amazing bits of California history that you can drive right by on adjacent highway 4 and be unaware of. But it is well worth a stop. John Muir played a key role in increasing awareness in America about the need to preserve park land and protect the environment. The home and grounds... 更多
Spent an unplanned hour or so here during our Thanksgiving trip. Lovely, well preserved home of John Muir. Great audio tour, friendly rangers, and beautiful grounds. Well worth a stop!
Stopped to check this place out. Very cool old house that you can tour. Go to the top floor and ring the bell. Nice walking tour, beautiful area, I'm sure it was a lot more beautiful 100 years ago. Come and check it oit, you will not be disappointed.
Very interesting tour of the house and a great film about his life! The park, ranger Nate was very informative and helpful. I highLy recommend you visit if in the area
After living about 20 miles away from John Muirs home for the last 25 years and driving past it more times than I could count, today was the day when my husband and I decided to visit. I gave it very good because the attraction is free and somewhere to take a family and spend a couple of hours. Not... 更多
