We rode it on motorcycles. Cost $10 a bike. It took about 2 hours. We did about 35 mph most of the way, but some corners and one lane sections we went even slower. The rock formations were very cool and the tunnels were especially rad on the bike. A must see.
Fantastic ride, beautiful scenery, on a motorcycle all the twist, turns, hairpin turns, passes thru the rocks were more than we imagined it could be. Great on a motorcycle if you are an experienced rider, some turns are a little wild, down or uphill with a hairpin turn. I am sure a car tour would be great, we did see some motorhomes on...
This is one of the most amazing places!! The road has been re-done and is very very narrow. It is scary at some of the sharp hair-pin turns. But well worth to trip up and over the top...the views are fantastic!
Incredible rock formation in the midst of other fascinating rock formations! Take the Needles Highway early in the morning or late in the afternoon, if possible, to avoid major traffic congestion. Be patient, as the views are well worth your time. Be prepared for narrow tunnels and numerous curves. Pull off and take pictures. Drive this route more than once!
