There is a lot of renovation going on at the old brewery these days, so the shops are not as extensive as they used to be, but still worth a visit. Mostly tourist stuff these days, though We missed Chico's which has moved out, but at least we got a nice refrigerator magnet.
this is an old brewery that was turned into a multi story bldg and houses many shops of all kinds as well as restaurants.
I didn't visit the brewery which looked quite cool, but I walked thru both floors of the mall. The shops seemed to be full of tourist goods -none of which looked especially inviting. It was threatening rain the day we arrived in New Orleans and JAX Brewhouse proved to be a good find on the riverfront. We had a couple of drinks and struck up a very useful conversation with the bartender, who gave us some great tips for sightseeing and eating out in the city. We stop there after our Natchez steamboat day cruise. We were six. We took.the first floor on a nice.round table.facing Decatur St. The atmosphere was awesome. Old Barrels made the walls and the tables and fresh the air with wood.and.beer smell. Perfect.
