I spent an hour or so at the Atlas pearl farm; very interesting tour (free) by Ita, who told me of the way pearls are produced. I was also shown how the pearl is started within the oyster. The tour is free and there are a lot of pearls for sale if you choose to buy something

Three and half hour drive for less than ten minutes information. What was the so called tour? Why was advised to be there around 0900 due to tide? What the hell did the tide have to do with watching a dvd and implant demo.
We had a very nice and educational visit to the Atlas Pearl Farm in Pemuteran. The staff were very helpful and it was a very relaxed environment. We purchased a set of earrings and someone in our family now has a beautiful piece of Bali to wear. We recommend it as a stop on your visit to the Pemuteran area.
We are staying in the far south of the island (Nusa Dua) and it was more than a 3 hour drive to get to Atlas but we thought it would be worth it to see how pearls are cultured and learn as well as shop. Unfortunately, we were really underwhelmed and it was over in a flash. The 2 lovely... 更多
Very disappointed as we thought we would see how the pearls were farmed. After a brief explanation we were just able to view pearls in the shop. We weren't offered a DVD show or even saw a real pearl shell. The staff were friendly and well spoken, and there was no pressure to buy.
My sister and I enjoyed looking at the gift shop, where the jewellery was displayed. We were shown an informative DVD on pearl farming, and were then shown how the shells are seeded for the different coloured pearls. We weren't under any pressure to purchase anything, and it was free to look around.
The Atlas pearl farm is situated in north west Bali. Developed by an Australian company is produces some if the best pearls in the world. Highly recommend watching the short introductory DVD and then staff organise a demonstration of seeding a pearl. This is all done within the gift shop. There is no pressure to buy the beautiful jewellery and... 更多
We paid about $22aud each to visit here and although it was interesting it most definitely was disappointing. When you arrive you are explained briefly how the pearls are produced. This took about four minutes in total. That was what your $22aud paid for. There is so much potential to make this place a really great tour spot. If you... 更多
Atlas mass produces cultured pearls. They show visitors a video on the process and then they inserted the 'nucleus' into an oyster to demonstrate the actual process. They have a retail store on-site where you can purchase pearls if you wish. I found this to be a very interesting tour and no hard sell at the end.
