I enjoyed touring Truman's home even more than I thought I would! Make sure you get your tickets from the visitor's center before going to the house. They have a short video to watch about Truman before you go and set up a time for you to meet your tour guide. We had the tour all to ourselves and that... 更多
A nice job has been done preserving this house. History comes alive as the park ranger leads you through thr house . One can easily see how a frugal life was lived.
The guided tour was very informative about the home, items in the home, history, etc. Was well worth the time. Interesting to really see how President Truman really lived.
We arrived at the Visitors Center at 223 N. Main Street about 8:30 in the morning and were able to get 2 tickets for the 9 a.m. tour of the home, as well as watch the film about the Truman family at the Visitors Center before heading to 219 N. Delaware for our tour. Tours are limited to 8 people... 更多
Though a president the Truman's lived as any other commands American. One of high moral value and one that placed family and country above self. The home adds a example of who they truly were. Tour guide seemed as though they didn't want to be there.
We had a great tour guide. This and some other things are not open on Monday, so keep in mind for your visit. I found it very interesting as it has been left as it was when they lived there, and has been preserved very well. Lots of good historical information about the family by the well informed tour guide.... 更多
We didn't take the inside tour of Truman's home but we did park and take a few pictures. My sister did take the tour and was disappointed by how little there was to see. The upstairs is not part of the tour.
The home tour given my the volunteer was wonderful interesting and presented a different perspective on the president and his wife. I was impressed by the lack of change the presidency had on the hometown couple. They were content with the simple life.
