We found this museum very interesting, Very informative intro film and lots of displays. We did not know Independence Mo was the starting point for many of the frontier trails. Our ancestors really had it tough heading out West and had lots of courage to build a better life for themselves. We learned a lot and glad we visited and... 更多
Not what we expected. Old film about the trails. Enjoy a walk through history of the west. I was disappointed in expecting a blacksmith and other activities.
We had a couple of hours to kill one afternoon and this is where we choose to visit. It was just right for the time we had and not very expensive. But, the museum is smaller than we anticipated. Still, there is good information and you get a good feel for the settlers who passed thru the area and the... 更多
I have been to a few museums that feature history about old west trails. This one is OK, not the best, not the worst. It had some interesting exhibits and I felt it was worth the $6 admission. Spent about an hour or so here. It is close to the Jail, Marshall's home and museum which is another interesting place... 更多
The museum, while quite small, was well organized and detailed. It was interactive, which was fun (we loaded a wagon to see if we could carry everything we needed) It makes me truly appreciate all of our modern conveniences!

The museum is really great and very informative. I started off by watching the sort of hokey video presentation they have, and I did enjoy it, but... 更多
This museum give you the feeling of what it was like to travel on the trails so many years ago. Certainly surprised about the size of the wagons and the distances that were travelled to get to the destinations.
Movie outdated but still pertinent. I highly recommend visiting the Bingham/Waggoner estate as it is right across the street. Admission for one is $5 ($4 for seniors) and the other is $6 but I do not remember which is which.
