We enjoyed learning the history behind the Big Ditch and how it formed. So we strolled along the access trails. Met a few homeless folks. Seemed gentle enough and we exchanged pleasantries. It cuts right through the middle of the city. Nice to walk around even when winter/snowy. It's fairly small so it makes for a nice stop if you're walking around the main street.
This tree lined park and walkway goes through town just one half block east of the main street in Silver City. It follows a beautiful little creek. Great place for a rest or picnic.
This is a very nice place to walk from the Visitors Information Center to the older part of downtown. There are informative signs along the path. Nice walk over the bridge gives a great vantage point of the "Big Ditch",
To find the park, look for the Gateway Arch over W. Broadway at N. Hudson and the Silver City Visitor Center will be on the corner at that intersection (you'll see a log cabin).
