The university museum was excellent place to learn more about Alaska - the place, people and history. It is worth the trip and at least a half day to enjoy most of the exhibits.
Just registered my son for College here. The New Student and Parent Orientation programming was wonderful. I felt I received information to help me transition my son to school and me to letting go.
So glad we stopped her. The museum covers everything Alaskan Ggives the tourist idea about the different areas of Alaska as well as a history lesson. Really glad we went there on one of our first days in Alaska. Appreciated the excellent overview
We visited this campus on Sept. 4th. The Alaska Range Overlook provides a nice view. The sign's plexiglass cover needs replacing. It is so yellowed you can't read the information. The gardens on campus were lovely. We enjoyed seeing the reindeer on the experimental farm from the road. We drove about campus but many facilities were closed.
This was our favorite part of our recent trip to Fairbanks. The campus is beautiful and we loved the Museum of the North--beautiful building, excellent collections (unexpected and wonderful art), and their Large Animal Research Station and botanical gardens were terrific. If you are starting a trip to Alaska in Fairbanks, this would provide a wonderful orientation.
I've been reading book after book [Dinosaurs under the Aurora is the best] about the dinosaurs of the polar regions and this museum now has a section on my favorite critters! The rest of the museum is really good as well, but - seriously, dinosaurs! For everyone who's five and over 5 but has never stopped loving dinosaurs. And oh year,... 更多
The museum at the U of A was a great stop in Fairbanks. They have a nice art exhibit upstairs (with local artists) and a museum that covers each different section of AK. You just don't know how huge it really is until you get there. A fun place for kids, too.
