Very much enjoyed touring the historic district in Frederickburg. Many very old homes - renovated and restored. George Washington lived here in his youth. Did a walking tour - enjoyed the shops, architectural styles on buildings, trees, streets, pubs, history and restaurants. Lots to do and see in area.
Sleepy town downtown. Some interesting buildings and several shops and places to eat. Start in one side of the sidewalk and walk your way to the end and the cross the street and do the same. If you missed visiting the vineyards on the way you can still wine taste on the Main Street.

The Fredericksburg historic district is lovely. There's a trolley route, which is convenient, and it's laid out on a grid, so it's very easily walkable! Take your time and read the plaques on the buildings. I recommend it!
