This is a significant place in terms of military history in America. They have photos and first hand testimony from people that lived through the Indian Wars, the American Civil War and the famous Hanging Judge Issac Parker. Great place for families to visit with activities for children. Nice walking park adjacent to the fort.
This historic site is something worth seeing. It's beautifully maintained and every person we saw while wandering around was VERY helpful and so friendly. There are signs and plaques telling about the Trail of Tears and the sad history of the Native American peoples so that we never forget. There is not much of the fort left except foundation stones... 更多
While originally a small fort, what made this place park worthy was it's court room. We all watched western movies where the deputy was taking the bad guys in for trial. Well, here's where they were going. Very interesting to learn the reality behind the myth.
there were a lot of things to see and just walking around at beautiful park was so much fun. it wasn't small park. a couple of historic buildings outside, riverside walk, old trains and visitor center was nice and clean.... this is a worth visiting spot with beautiful views.
I have lived in Fort Smith my hole life and love the Historic Site. My family and i walk our dog here several times a week. I always feel safe and you can always find something new to see.
This was a great place. National Park service so admission was free with our Annual Pass. Lots of history of our country's most famous outlaws and Judges. Beautiful grounds to walk around.
My husband and I walked over from visiting the new art from the Unexpected Project; he has lived here all his life and had never been to this site. I love this area; great history and a beautiful setting. Get out there and enjoy!
