The Massie Heritage Center should be your first stop in Georgia's first city! Massie provides the best orientation for your visit with a 3D model of Savannah's entire Historic District, including three laser-lit narratives of the city's history projected onto the model. Massie's six exhibit rooms inside the historic 1856 Greek Revival school house offers visitors the unique opportunity to learn about Savannah's many architectural styles, the earliest inhabitants of the Georgia coast, the historic preservation movement in the city, and what school was like in the 1800s inside our authentic heritage classroom. We are located on beautiful Calhoun Square, Savannah's only architecturally original square, at the corner of Abercorn and Gordon streets. We look forward to seeing you!

narn architectural styles, history of area and more. Learn a lot about the natives that were in area 10,000 + years ago. Some great old historical geographical naps to look at from the 1860's.

I've been coming to Savannah for vacations for years and bought a house here this year. This was the first time I visited the Massie Heritage Center! First, there is an amazing model of the historic district that has a vocal narrative coordinated with laser lights that is wonderful. The exhibit is beautiful and you'll get a great sense of... 更多

We got free tickets to view this center from our trolley tour. It was a nice stop but not really my cup of tea. The exhibits were well thought out and displayed, there were a lot of interactive areas. It was tricky to travel between the three buildings and sometimes it felt a little random with the offerings. Personally, I... 更多

I have visited here on numerous occasions and learn something new each time. It is not only Savannah's history, it's about America's history. The staff are cordial and very serious about presenting the history. The building has been restored to preserve the best part of Savannah's history. I look forward to visiting there again.

I wasn't aware of this museum originally, but it was part of the trolley tour package, so we decided to stop. It is a cool little museum that is worth taking a look at. It has great interactive displays for kids AND adults, and shows Savannah's layout and history in a large 3-D format map (about 10 feet by 10... 更多

Even though I have lived in this area for over 20 years I have never been to this place until last year. What a very interesting place. Was a school for the poor in Savannah. Then when General Sherman was here he used it as a hospital. When I went there was a presentation on that and I thought it... 更多

This was a stop on our Old Town Trolley Tour and the cost was included in our tour package. It was a very nice museum that touched on several part of Savannah's history from education (oldest school in Savannah) to maritime (shipping) and others. Worth a stop.

We stopped off here while on our trolley tour, it started as a boys and girls school and was opened in 1856 as a public school and finally closed in 1974. It later became the Heritage Center and now provides the opportunity to see the way Savannah was build, there is a large city grid display that shows how the... 更多

This is an excellent museum for a full understanding of Savannah. We were there on a free Sunday. Not sure if the docents are always available, but they were extremely informative for our visit. The main hall has a full scale model of Savannah with an excellent explanation by the docent of how it grew from its earliest founding. Other... 更多

As an educator I enjoyed visiting the first one room classroom in Savannah. It's a great place to visit complete with authentic chalkboards, rules, desks and quills.
