Our niece really wanted to visit and take a photo in the square where the opening of Forrest Gump opening was filmed. Our timing couldn't have been better as Forrest was arriving just as we were searching for a suitable location for said photo. He was darling, in full character and happy to oblige for a photo.
This is where Forest Gump waited for the bus. The bench is not there, it's in the Savannah History Museum. As with all of Savannah squares, they are well kept, clean and safe.

One of many beautiful squares in Savannah! Wear comfortable walking shoes, and you can get them all in within a couple of days (if you don't want to race walk!)
Popular because of the Forrest Gump Movie, the Bench is gone and it's suppose to be in the museum, but that one is a replacement as well. Nice Square all the same.
If you don't have time to visit all the 22 squares in Savannah, visit this one because this is where they filmed Forrest Gump eating his chocolates and talking to everyone.
