My best friend and I visited, based on the variety of history mixed with art. We are from Pennsylvania, so we did not feel a pride or connection to all of the information about Maryland history. The museum was well put together, beautiful, and well-designed. Great for schools and class field trips, but not for two friends visiting Baltimore. The... 更多
It's a good museum and a decent one with artifacts and history surrounding the Baltimore area but there are better options I would choose. If your time is limited, I'd go to other museums located nearby (Inner Harbor Area) . It is a nice museum just too much emphasis on one subject.
I enjoyed this museum very much. Artifacts from the Civil War, war of 1812 and tons of furniture are just some of what they offer. very interesting place filled with history.
I was staying in the Mt Vernon area, and had some day light hours to myself. I strolled around the area, and bumped into this place. Its very well run. If you get the tourist pamphlet, you get $2 off your admission. All the exhibits are nicely laid out, and pleasant to view and displayed well. All the facilities that... 更多
It is a lovely, quaint museum that makes you feel as if you are in those historic times. The museum is truly Heaven on Earth. Staff are wonderful. I highly recommend it.
I learned a LOT at this museum and am so glad I went. It covers three floors in a historic building in the Mount Vernon historic district. The exhibits are very unique to the area. Baltimore was the leading producer of fine furniture at the end of the Revolutionary War. They have an extensive collection of examples of the furniture... 更多
We enjoyed seeing Francis Scott Key's original hand written draft of the Star Spangled Banner. Many interesting and unique exhibits.
This museum has something for everyone and is chocked full of history! I can't believe people haven't talked about this more! It took us a good 2 hours or so to get through everything. At this time of month they had a special exhibit on 3 tombs buried underneath St. Mary's Church which when the exhibit closes, the tombs will... 更多
I was there for less than 2 hours and wished I had more time. Every part of the museum should be visited, even the top floor where a quite a surprise awaits you. The exhibitions cover quite a lot in telling the history of Maryland. It is located a very short distance from the Walters Art Museum.
