Interested in history? This is the place for you. Wonderful visit, lots of interesting facts and restored barracks, quarters and even the medical building. The Fort was placed to protect the travelers on the road from San Antonio to El Paso in the late 1800's. Beautiful scenery and an enjoyable walk along the grounds. Short drive from Alpine or Marfa... 更多
We thought this would be a quick stop with a few buildings in ruins and some history plaques. This place totally exceeded expectations. Several buildings you could walk in and see the history. We learned a lot about the hospital and how it was just as dangerous to soldiers as war was for them. The kids were able to do... 更多
My husband and I visited Fort Davis today and thoroughly enjoyed it! The buildings and exhibits were fascinating, with interesting and informative descriptions. The park rangers were unfailingly friendly. It was so poignant to wander through an area that had been the site of so much history and activity just a little over a hundred years ago, thinking about the... 更多
The Fort has a cool little museum, lots of artifacts, and a bunch of buildings, some of which have been restored and refurnished as they were when the fort was used. Very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable staff too!

They also have a nature trail that we took for a short time but we had to turned around because park was closing soon. The trail... 更多
This place seems so quiet, sleepy, fairly dormant location when you first see it from afar. However this is deceiving. Once you enter the park you find that it's lively, rich with history, rich with learning activities. We had a great time exploring the park, the Rangers were very helpful. We did one of the trails up to the Outlook... 更多
We stopped in to Fort Davis for a visit while staying in the Davis Mountains. There is a really nice little museum set up, with some interactive exhibits. Skip the video, it is rather boring. Instead, take the time to visit all the outbuildings, and don't skip the hospital - although it is the furthest walk, it was the most... 更多
The Ranger that helped my daughter and I was super friendly. She took extra time to tell us about the site, the museum and even helped us find a place to eat for lunch. The museum is very good. The preserved buildings interesting. The film sort of kitchy but good. The bathrooms are clean. One could easily spend two to... 更多
