My wife and I work in the landscaping field and like to visit gardens and arboretums to see plants that are not native in our area. Normally we find at arboretum's most, if not all, the plants are marked or labeled. At Jacksonville Arboretum we found less than 10% of the plants labeled. The one's that were labeled were the... 更多
I LOVE SQUIRRELS, you see them everywhere. Went on a long walk through all the trails. It's very windy and more of the same again and again but if you like a calm walk through what feels like the middle of a huge forrest, its perfect.
This is a nice arboretum. It has trails and maps and I love how it shows about how many steps each is for kids and adults. Easy to spend a short or longer while at. Beautiful and diverse nature. Parking was easy and it's easy to get to. Nice place to spend some time in nature, walking, sitting, or otherwise.... 更多
We have visited the Arboretum many times, over many seasons. Lots of parking available. Several well marked nature trails to choose from. Picnic area. Covered areas for family gatherings can be scheduled. The plant life is abundant and well marked. There is even a record sized tree within park. Bathroom (co-ed) was available.
The Jacksonville Arboreteum & Gardens is a beautiful place. The plants are so neat, and their associated signs are excellent for learning more about them and the landscapes. The trails are very well maintained as well. I visited with my dog and saw several other dogs there. There was also a doggy water bowl so dogs can stay hydrated. It... 更多
I went thru alone....didn't get to experience the whole thing...but from what I saw, I liked and would come back again to visit. I love the price and I am a plant buff.
This Arboretum is cared for by volunteers -- and they deserve a huge "thank you" for their wonderful effort. They have made a good effort to label and identify many of the plants. The paths are sandy and very easy to traverse. SIgnage warns about alligators, but we did not see any. The arboretum closes strictly at 5pm. There are... 更多
This is a free park. It is volunteer maintained. Lots of paths with varying degrees of difficulty. Beautiful small lake. Very natural setting with different trees and plants identified. Great for meandering or power walking. There is a picnic area near the entrance so you can bring your lunch and enjoy sitting in a beautiful, natural area. We went on... 更多
My boyfriend and I spent most of our first date here and fell in love with it. We love to just go on random days and see the new flowers, walk the trails, and check out the water front. I can imagine getting married here, its so beautiful and means a lot to us. We also love the artburEATum every... 更多
Even locals seem unaware of this quiet place to walk, explore, picnic, and unwind! I've taken my family two or three times, and the kids loved it. There are many kinds of trees, bushes, and flowers to be discovered, along with insects, swimming snakes, and, yes, even gators (reported in the pond). There are a few picnic tables not far... 更多
