This review actually relates to the "uptown" location on Laura Street, but I suspect in substance that matters not. If you are either higher-educated or imbued in the rich counter-culture, Chamblin Bookmine is an icon as well as a refuge. Many of us have experienced the encyclopedic used bookstore at some time -- and felt thrilled (no exaggeration). If you... 更多
Their books are way overpriced, questions and requests for help were seen as a bother. My wife purchased six paperback books for a total of $65.27. The very same titles, at amazon.com, for brand new paperbacks would have cost $68.06. The place smells bad and the isles are cluttered with boxes of books that will not fit on the shelves.... 更多
I have been to this place many times and I am always amazed! This is a great place for all book lovers. They also sell dvds and graphic novels! This place is HUGE and it's always fun getting lost inside! They also have a lot of good deals!

This place is a goldmine. Every time I come, there is something to be added to my books on genocide and the Middle East. Plus the piano player is great.
I grew up shopping here. It's always been a favorite pastime and now that I have young daughters, it's on my list of day trips for the family. If you've never been in before, I suggest carving out an hour of time to just poke around. There's nothing quite like the smell of used books and thought of unlimited possibilities.... 更多
