Christ Church Burial Ground is a short walk from the Independence Hall/Liberty Bell area in downtown Philadelphia. Many significant individuals associated with America's founding are interred here; most famously, of course, being Benjamin Franklin. Admission is very cheap for a self-guided tour, or a guided tour is available for a small fee. If you're in town to see sites of... 更多
Then this is a must see. So many graves from the 1700's are still here. Ben Franklin's grave is here along with other significant revolutionaries.

The big draw here is Benjamin Franklin's grave. If that's all you want to see, you can view it from outside the cemetery fence. But if you want a better vantage point for Franklin's final resting place, or if you want to dive a bit deeper into Philadelphia's history, then pay the modest $2 entry fee and go into the... 更多

We actually stumbled across this by accident. There is not much to it in terms of length of time, but it was neat to see the graves of several of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence. The cost was also extremely minimal, so it is a great spot to take kids or a group. As a fellow parent, however,... 更多

We loved visiting Franklins grave. There was a fee to enter I think $2-3 per adult and $1-2 for kids. Worth the money to walk around and see so many old graves and so much history. The kids enjoyed it greatly.

So I had only 3.5 hours to show Sue the important old historic part of Philadelphia. As we had just finished our tour of the U.S.mint , coming out right across the street is the "Christ Church burial ground. A very old interesting cemetery. In it are some of the oldest families in Philadelphia. Also there are 5 of our... 更多

It was a little confusing at first because the big cemetary is a block or so away from the church, there is a small one behind the church but that isn't the one you are looking for. I was a bit surprised that there was a $7 charge to enter the cemetary which used to be free (plus they get... 更多

We ended up visiting because we saw it on our map from the Historical Park. So glad we went - it is a short walk from the Visitor's Center and right across the street from the Free Quaker Meeting House. You can see Benjamin Franklin's grave from the sidewalk, but you can also pay a small fee and walk around... 更多
