You would assume that you might see something dinosaur related at Dinosaur National Monument in Dinosaur, Colorado. That isn't the case, and if you want to see fossils you have to go to the quarry, 30 minutes west in Jenson, UT. We drove through this side of the monument on the Sheep Creek loop, and had we not just come... 更多
We were on a long road trip and decided to stop in Dinosaur to break up the drive to Park City UT. Turns out this was one of the highlights of our trip. The Dinosaur Museum is built around the mountain with hundreds is bones and fossils imbedded into it. The rangers are very educated and informed. This is a... 更多
This place was great. You must see it. It was worth the trip and drive to see the quarry. The staff was so nice. The quarry (wall of dinosaur bones) was wonderful. It is indoors so not hot. If you do hiking (we did not) you will be outside, though. Bring sunscreen, hat and water!
We spent an hour or so here on our trip from Salt Lake City to Steamboat Springs. Glad we brought a picnic because no restaurant here. The wall is quite something and the exhibits are interesting. Take the tram ride up the hill. Would have liked to do one of the hikes, but too hot and too little time.
After seeing the Utah side of the park we drove the 35 miles into these canyons. It took some time but the views of these canyons and mountains were well worth the effort. It is self driven and tour and several stops along the way was well worth it.
Felt like I got to live out my dream of being a paleontologist a little bit! It was great! It's a smaller monument and wasn't crowded at all when we went in the first week of June. After you park you get on a shuttle that feels very Jurassic Park esque! The shuttle takes you out to the bones! You... 更多
Most of my life I have wanted to see Dinosaur! Now I have one more National Park stamped in my NP Passport. (Be sure to take the NP Passports when you go.) It is beautiful sightseeing. Well worth the trip and so many beautiful experiences along the way wherever you are coming from. We learned that there are two entrances... 更多
If you or your kids like dinosaurs, you will love this National Monument. The majority of the exhibits are inside so if it is raining you will still enjoy your visit. There are well documented exhibits and the Rangers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Plan on about two hours.
The Colorado part of Dinosaur National monument is more about beautiful mountains, canyons and the Yampa and Green Rivers. There are no dinosaur exhibits in this part of the monument. We drove down Harpers Corners Road to the end and then hiked a portion of the rim trail that eventually ends at the junction of the Yampa and Green Rivers.... 更多
