The Cumberland Gap National Historic Park preserves this important area of American history. The Cumberland Gap allowed colonists and early Americans to settle Kentucky, Tennessee and the Ohio River valley. The tourist center has exhibits that describe the history and use of the Cumberland Gap. Two films are available to view; one describes the history of the Cumberland Gap and... 更多
This park is just amazing! Almost 100 miles of hiking trails, lots of history, a cave to tour, a settlement to tour and super friendly staff! We spent many hours here hiking, touring and talking to the very informative staff! We highly recommend a stop here if in the area.
Our family hiked through the gap and up to Tristate Peak and enjoyed the trails. We started from the Iron Furnace, which is just a parking area in the town of Cumberland Gap. There are no facilities, but some are located at the park headquarters a short drive away. The hikes themselves were well maintained and not overly challenging for... 更多
We were driving home from Louisville, KY to Kingsport, TN and saw that we were going to drive right through Cumberland Gap. My wife had stopped at the park some 15 years earlier (in a former lifetime) and mentioned that it was quite a view. We took an hour to drive up to the overlook parking lot and see what... 更多
My son and I went based on a referral from our B & B owner. Pinnacle Point is the best! We only were in Middlesboro for one day and night. There was a storm coming, so we didn't get to spend much time on the mountain. The road is really curvy, and fun to drive on! There are viewing stops... 更多
The drive to the viewpoint on top is fun for those who aren't prone to carsickness, and the view is spectacular. The history and scenery are signicant. Being there in January, no one else was around so we had the place to ourselves.
My husband and I decided to stop at this National Park on a whim. We are huge National Park fans, but we were traveling home from a TN Christmas Vacation, and decided to detour! The Park Ranger at the desk in the visitor center was Amazing! So helpful and so sweet to my 11 year old son that had lots... 更多
This is a wonderful place to see an important part of American history. Daniel Boone and others led thousands of folks along the Wilderness Road into Kentucky and Tennessee in the 1700's. You can walk along that same road here. The park is uncrowded with a lot of hiking options. I'm not a hiker but I was able to easliy... 更多
This is a very beautiful area and I highly recommend visiting. Pinnacle Point is quite unique since you see three states at once and you can actually be in 2 places at once. We are not hikers but we have highly recommended Cumberland Gap to our sons who are very into hiking. But even though we didn't hike our trip... 更多
The entire area was clean and very convenient for our large family to enjoy food, music, and fellowship. The views are exquisite.
