We visited the preserve in mid-April so it was still early for blooms and hummingbirds. We did see a handful of hummingbirds but not as many as we had hoped. We saw deer, squirrels and butterflies as well as beautiful scenery including a creek. The main hike is only about 1.5 miles and there are benches along the way. We... 更多
Due to computer problems was difficult in am to pay entry fee and delayed access to canyon. Very beautiful natural settings. If you're off to late start will be difficult to find parking.
The preserve boasts that 14 species of hummingbirds are among the 150 species of birds either living in or migrating through the confines of the park. We saw several hummers and other fowl. Nice hiking trail leading to an overlook of Ramsey Canyon. We also saw at least three Coues whitetail deer. $6.00 entry fee per adult, good for 6... 更多
I would come to Ramsey Canyon again and again. It's a beautiful place to come and sit and enjoy the outdoor freshness, hiking trail and hummingbirds. Come bring the family or as an elderly couple enjoy the benches, trees and birds.
We went on the trail & took many beautiful pictures for my daughter's senior pics. The sound of running water is refreshing to those who are missing creeks & nature. The only downside was the nature center. I would love to see just a little bit more in that area.
Ramsey Canyon is a unique place on a sky island in southern Arizona. The uniqueness of it is that it's like a soon, but you are being observed. I recommend you stay at one of the cabins in the canyon or the bed and breakfast just outside the reserve. Staying at the canyon, you will be able to go into... 更多
This is one of my favorite places in southeastern Arizona. If you're a birder, this is the place to be during spring and fall migrations. Something like 14 species of hummingbirds have been identified here(best time May thorough the summer). In mid-March, the trees were just starting to pop their leaf buds. So it was quiet. Highly recommend taking the... 更多
This is a beautiful place for a quiet walk in the woods. The trails run on both sides of a small mountain stream and are dotted with benches and empty pioneer era buildings. We sat on one bench for several minutes watching two deer grazing less than twenty feet away. If you would like a break from the stark desert... 更多
This mountain range is among the most beautiful in Southern Arizona. In contrast to the Valley of the Sun, the Southeast corner of AZ has a genuine Mediterranean climate, lovely year-round. Day hikes, camping, access to old Bisbee with its art galleries and restaurants, Kartchner Caverns State Park, and a range of affordable hotels in nearby Sierra Vista, make this... 更多
