Fantastic little museum. Great for kids and adults. Family admission price is $25 for the group. Plan to spend about an hour sizing up giant dinosaurs and experiencing an earthquake.
We visited Dinosaur Journey as we had some spare time. there are lots of displays and information targeted to adults, but also some robot dinosaurs with noise associated. The robots may be great for 7-9 year olds, but eh noise detracts a bit from the adult focus and may be too loud and graphic for younger children.
There is a video of the founding and history of the museum. There are many fossilized, real bones that have been obtained in the western slope area. There is also a section of the museum where students conduct research and cleaning et al of finds. Overall, a worthwhile visit for your children.
Saw the signs on the highway and decided to pull in. Wow! This place is really interesting and you can tell they have really tried to educate their visitors. Never knew so many dinosaurs had roamed these hills. The exhibits are huge! Be sure and watch the movie too.
My 2 12 year old sons and I did a Dino Dig through here and then toured the museum. It was a top notch experience. A little pricey for the Dig, but worth it for two boys that have wanted to do this for many years. The museum is nice too.
We took 8 and 10 yr old grandchildren, and they were fascinated! Quite frankly, we were also fascinated by all of the detailed explanation of that point in the history of our world. The animation is amazing, very realistic (or so we suppose :), and great fun as well as informative! Time well spent.
Fun animatronic dinosaur displays and interactive, educational exhibits. Expected a much larger museum for the price, but I later heard they were undergoing some financial difficulties and I was happy to have spent what we did if it helped keep this place going. Great adventure!
