We started our holiday at the mela hotel in times square. It was a fantastic location for the hustle and bustle of NYC. The hotel is situated in a side street and takes probably two minutes to get into the square. Although the room itself was very small, it was extremely clean. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Our... 更多
It's the tale of two influential people of the 20th century -- President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the celebrated architect Louis Kahn, whose vision was realized after his death. It's a simple, serene site on the southern end of Roosevelt Island, a place with few visitors but an incredible view of Manhattan and Brooklyn. From Midtown Manhattan, it's a relatively... 更多
We loved our visit to the Four Freedoms Park. Our tour was so interesting. The location gives you the best views of Manhattan but also provides a history lesson. A+!
Beautiful memorial in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend for an outing. Picnic areas available. Be prepared for a pretty long walk from the F Train or Roosevelt Island tram... no buses/trams to transport visitors. Restroom facilities at the inside of the park and while there was a food truck near the tables, it wasn't open when we were there (mid-week... 更多

Kahn's mid-20th Century vision was not fully followed in the construction of the park, as the walls are only about half the height he proposed, but the steps do allow you to immerse yourself in the experience of peaceful reflection on the Four Freedoms... 更多
Nice park with a great view of Manhattan. The stone they have used in the park is cool and they've planted some nice trees too. I know it's a memorial type thing but a few more chairs or benches in shaded areas would be handy. It's about a 10 min walk from the tramway
if you go to roosevelt island you must visit this park. The island is pretty small but the trip is worth because of this park! the manhattan view from the park is pretty nice and the park is very charming.
go for the amazing scale of the landscaping leading to the memorial and the excellent views of Manhattan, and especially of the United Nations. Take the aerial tram from 59th street for just a swipe of your metro card to make an especially dramatic arrival on Roosevelt Island. It is easy to ignore the fact that this is an important... 更多
