This beautifully designed museum is devoted to the art of Asia. It has a beautiful building taking up most of a block on Park Avenue. There are two large exhibition rooms on the second floor, and a restaurant, a gift shop and a small exhibit area on the first floor. There is always something interesting on offer -- today a... 更多

This is an exquisite museum (the part I visited). In particular, we got a guided tour (included with admission, which was only $10 for seniors) for the Kamakura special exhibition. Fascinating, because I am ignorant on that subject and this was a fantastic introduction. This is also a tremendous opportunity to enrich your culture and do something different in New... 更多

The current exhibit of Buddhist sculpture and other practice instruments from the period 1100-1300 is beautiful on many levels. Simply to look and contemplate as is quiets the mind. Going deeper there is a view into how the artisans created these pieces and the development of Japanese Buddhism through the joining of Shinto and Chinese Buddhism and then Zen. Very... 更多

We visited this museum in 2008 and loved it, so it was on our priority list this time around. I am so grateful that we made the choice to return. The exhibitions were (again) amazing and exciting; beautifully put together and inspiring. I didn't know about Kamakura and here was a fantastic exhibition about Kamakura: Realism and Spirituality in the... 更多

This is a small museum. Do not go with the expectation that you will be seeing what is surely a large collection housed somewhere else. However, they do have rotating exhibitions that have never disappointed me. Some are modern, some ancient, but they cover all of Asia and they are always very well staged. Look on their website for the... 更多

We were fortunate in being here the last day the Philippines gold exhibition. Truly spectacular, it contained many wonderful pieces examples of craftmanship of the highest order from the 10th to 13th centuries. It all drove home to me how little I know about the Philippine islands and their history. The space is attractive; we'll definitely come here again. I... 更多

On Thanksgiving Friday, our family visited the Asia Society to view the Philippine Gold exhibit. Although there were only about 50 pieces, what was there was interesting and even divine. Some of the more primitive pieces, such as a funerary mask with large eyelashes cut out to mimic real ones, made me think of how many of these treasures must... 更多

An amazing exhibit of gold artifacts dating from the 10th to 13th centuries. Stunningly beautiful items with craftsmanship that was far beyond anything extant in Europe at the time. This is truly a forgotten civilization that pre-dates Spanish colonialism in the Philippines. Given the beauty of the work, however, it's civilization that's worth studying. This exhibit is a great place... 更多

I had the crab cake and the green tea panna cotta. Delicious! I would highly recommend! The service was quite good. The only downside is that a pot of tea makes a bit less than two small cups of tea.

I can't say enough about the beautiful atmosphere and food here. Not a lot of restaurants or coffee shop s in this area so this was a pleasant surprise. Had the watermelon gazpacho and it was amazing...I don't even like watermelon much, but this was out of this world...would really be ashame if you missed this! The staff was the...
