Marconi Beach was named after the Italian inventor Marconi. This place was named for him because Marconi successfully completed the first transatlantic wireless communication between the U.S. and England in 1903 at this site! What a beautiful beach. We went the weekend of Oct. 17th. A clean, wide open space. We've been to CC several times, but it was our first time at this beach. Can't wait to visit it in the summer.
We were vacationing on Cape Cod recently and went to many beaches during our stay on the Cape. Marconi Beach was great. They had easy access to the Ocean. There are restrooms and showers available, and even a restaurant that was closed, unfortunately, due to it being seasonal.
Beach is great, clean water, nice waves good sand. However you must go down several flights of stairs to get there. Great views from upper area without taking the stairs.
Our family goal was to see a Seal on our trip to Cape Cod... amazing! They were everywhere and we never tired of watching them. The beach itself was beautiful. The kids loved playing in the waves and making sand castles. But the highlight for all of us was the Seals!
We were on the Cape about two weeks ago, and were staying near Marconi Beach. The Southfleet Motor Inn loaned us their can of Cutter's Spray to ward off the hordes of black flies we encountered the day before. Like all the beaches on the National Seashore, Marconi is impeccably maintained. There is always room to park in the oversized lot, but sometimes the trek to the sand seems like a walk in the Sahara, but it's worth it once your feet are caressed by the warm sand.
