This drive should be taken early in the day, to take advantage of morning sunlight for best picture taking. There are great views of cliff dwellings, and great views of the canyon. Please remember to take your binoculars, and take time to absorb the beauty of this special place.
We did this drive in the early evening and the light was wonderful - virtually no one else around and so also very peaceful as the sun set.
Nice views of several caves and ruins. If you have extra 30-50 minutes after more popular South Rim Drive, it's not a bad idea to look here as well.
Seemed like the quiet side of the drive. Make sure you have a stocked cooler and a lot of time and stop at every over look. Read all the signs, take lot's of pictures, walk around, learn the history.
