We parked on Golfcrest Dr and went up to Cowles Mountain and then went to Pyles Peak. We saw many people along the first part but the hike from Cowles to Pyles was very quiet so I highly recommend. Overall took about 3 hours. Great hiking trails.
We wound up at Mission Trails Regional Park on a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon in September, as it was relatively near the mission. Definitely bring water and a hat/visor! And we were glad we had our hiking boots, as the terrain could be rocky in places. We stuck to the the trails nearest the visitors' center, which was quite... 更多
We had a had a hard time finding the GIGANTIC Mission Trail Regional Park visitor center based on the address and out GPS navigation. Once we were there, we decided to try the climber's loop trail. The hike was a one mile steep/narrow trail on the side of the Kwaay Paay. You definitely need good hiking boots/shoes and patience to... 更多
The museum is quaint but well done with history on the gorge and the area. A great place to hike for all skill levels from 0.5 miles to about a 9 mile loop with nice challenging hills.
In the area for some vacation time and was looking for a place to get some exercise outside. The area has a nice nature center with some displays in good shape. There are a variety of hiking trails, including some more difficult ones to the tops of the '5 peaks' in the park. There are several other trailheads around the... 更多
I found out about this park via singletracks.com because I wanted to ride a mountain bike while in San Diego for a conference - I needed something active to do after sitting inside discussing work and this park was perfect. Easy to find, but the trails were sometimes challenging to negotiate as I was not used to the CA topography.... 更多
If you live in San Diego you'll wonder why you've never been to this park. It's for everyone!!! There's a beautiful museum/library/visitor center surrounded by picturesque mountains and natural beauty. It offers hiking trails for all ages and real rock climbing if that's your thing. We ride our bike from the center down to the Old Mission Dam and that's... 更多
We've been to Mission Trails dozens of times, probably even hundreds of times. It's a beautiful park with a lot of open space and lots of good opportunities for getting outside and wandering around. Early evenings are wonderful as the park is not at all crowded.
I haven't been on a lot of the different trails. I have mainly walked from the parking lot in Santee over to the Visitors center and it is a paved walking trail that you take. I really enjoy the walk. It really isn't a hike, but you walk by along a river you can walk down to. There are trails... 更多
