Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is indeed one of the crown jewels in the National Park Service. Covering over 4,000 acres in 3 states (WV, VA and MD) at the scenic confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers and the Potomac River water gap through the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Park features an amazing diversity of American History all in one place: Great figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Brown, Frederick Douglass, Robert E. Lee, U.S. Grant, "Stonewall" Jackson, JEB Stuart, Philip Sheridan, W.E.B. Du Bois, Kate Field and many others swirl around Harpers Ferry like a whirlwind! The C&O Canal National Park, Appalachian National Scenic Trail and the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail all converge at Harpers Ferry NHP. Twenty miles of hiking trails in the Park offer more than a one weekend getaway. The videos really put you in the time and place. It shows you the history of Virginia and how West Virginia came to be. Don't forget to get pictures of the 2 rivers and the scenery of the 3 states that converge at this point. If you take Harpers Ferry Rd from Antietam your driving skills had better be really good... 更多

This was a first rate experience, from the shuttle ride from the visitor's center to all of the indoor and outdoor exhibits. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking.

Wanted to show my family this historic place so nicely located between the two rivers.National Park, river and railroad. The railroad astonished my German family because of the noise, the location in town and the desolate tracks/ trains. The town and all the different houses were interesting but as there was no German text for some of us it was... 更多

We live about 45 min away so we often come up here in the spring and summer for a day trip. The restaraunts are nice and theres a lot of small specialty shops. The icecream shop is very good, and the view in the summer is beautiful. They have historic tours and several museums.

Beautiful, historic town. Lots to see to learn about the unique history of the town and area. We took the 2-mile hike from the parking lot and rode the shuttle back.

Great little town to spend the day and visit historic museums and sites. Must use hiking boots, it was very busy and some visitors were not as friendly, the roads are so narrow that cars pile up with traffic and get very impatient. You are better off parking somewhere and hike the town and surrounding areas. Some of the historic... 更多

Cool place to visit. Historical, quaint town. Get there before 5:45 which is when the bus stops running. Parking in the actual town is 0 to none. You have to park about 2 miles from Harpers Ferry and shuttle in.

We visited here knowing about John Brown and his raid on the armory, but also learned much more about the town's role along the C&O Canal, B&O Railroad, national armory, and manufacturing center along the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. It is set in a beautiful location, nestled in the hills at the confluence of the two rivers, and nice just... 更多

We went to the area with the intention of viewing the fall colors in an attractive location, which we did, but we were also surprised at the extent of the park and how much you can learn about how important Harpers Ferry was in the Civil War and to the Lewis and Clark expedition. Located at the confluence of the... 更多
