Bar Harbor is crazy busy in the summer. The shore path is right around town, but not too busy. You can see some beautiful views of the water, homes and enjoy the quiet.
Taking this walk will take you past gorgeous homes and over a rocky seashore. We passed one lone boulder many times larger than a man. We took our walk in the fog and it was still lovely.
The day was cool and a little windy when we visited. But to lock out on the bay and the scenery in general made it a very pleasant way to fill an afternoon. Not a place for cold or very windy days but I guess you can rug up if you are really into the seasides and rustic views. :-)
I think this path along the ocean is a bit overrated. It was fine for a short walk, but I think walking the Marginal Way in Perkins Cove, ME is much better and more beautiful.
Location - Walk along the water's edge from the downtown to the edge of town. Not far. Condition - It is a paved path with a small wall along parts of it. Very clear and well, tended. There is a main access point at the end of the main street where it starts out as just the regular sidewalk, but... 更多
We walked this path in the evenings before dinner. We found a lot of sea glass on the shore. It is not something that will take entire day but is a nice way to spend some downtime before or after dinner.
This path was created in the 1800s. It's a paved, flat easy walk along the water past beautiful homes. Nice for a stroll after dinner.
Everyone has said it already but it's true, This is a lovely and easy walk around the shoreline of the town of Bar Harbor. Appreciated the identification of various islands and homes. We were there in September but I would love to experience the seasonal changes.
The views were beautiful. We left in mid-morning in mid-August, and by the time we headed back the path had gotten very crowded. I recommend going in off peak times during the summer.
The shore path is a great thing to do with your spouse. The walk is nice and its really interesting to see the houses on the shore line. The views are amazing.
