Molokai's shallow flats along the south shore were ideal for building fishponds. At certain times of year the Hawaiians made fishing kapu. This was done to protect the resource. We had a wonderful picnic lunch on a table under the trees, looking out at the water. Very peaceful, quiet spot the day we were there.
the water is shallow and waves are nearly not exhistant here. Makes this a great place for the little ones to play in the water with some sense of safety.
Disappointed in how it was touted - obviously of historical importance as a royal fish pond but I wasn't impressed with the fish pond (difficult to see) or the park.
