Decided to make a quick stop at the lighthouse and wildlife refuge while visiting the north shore. Was surprised at how little there was to see, basically an overlook of the cliffs and the trail to the lighthouse. It was very pretty, but I figured for the price of admission there might be a bit more to see or do.... 更多
Great place to see wildlife - we saw turtles swimming in the ocean as well as all the birds. The birds are very close and the chicks in the nests are right beside the path so very easy to see and photograph. Well worth the visit.
When we visited, access was closed to the Lighthouse but we were still able to stop & see Kilauea Point. The view is impressive and the area unique. It is fun to see the lighthouse and all the birds. This is the type of area that give you a sense of wonder. This is not a stop that requires a... 更多
This was our second time to visit Kilauea Point, and we don't return to see things that aren't worthwhile. I must admit we were very disappointed to find the trail to the lighthouse closed since the view from the lighthouse is amazing. There was some serious work on the road and entrance to the lighthouse, and it appeared that the... 更多
Such a beautiful site and definitely something every visitor to Kauai should see. There was lots of confusion when we visited. The gates don't open until 10am (they are closed on Mondays so check the schedule) and the day we visited the gates opened a few minutes late. Be patient and once you drive in there is a short walk... 更多
This is administered by the National Park Service and they close at 4PM. Well they stop selling tickets/passes at 4. However in order to allow the staff to get away as soon after 4 as they can they stop anyone going beyond the gift shop to the actual light house before that. All very annoying. The worst of the NPS.
We drove here from our resort in Lihue on a sunny day. It took us about 30 - 45 minutes to arrive. It was well worth the effort. Hard to describe with words the feeling one gets when visiting this location. The views are magnificent. The colors of the blue ocean and green vegetation are deep and rich. But mostly,... 更多
We stopped here briefly on our movie tour so we came back to walk up to the lighthouse. It is $5 per persons 15 and older. What a beautiful place! The views, wildlife, and wonderful gift shop made for one of my favorite stops on this trip. Don't miss it!
