We saw the signs for this waterfall, and figured we'd make a quick stop. We are so glad we took the time. The falls are gorgeous, and well-worth the trip. It's only a few miles off the highway, although parking was a little tough.
There is a viewpoint off the highway a short distance from the main highway. Nice view of the falls from the viewpoint, but no access to the falls themselves. Across the road is a nice view of the Wailua River valley. Parking can be problematic at the viewpoint.
Nothing crazy here. Cool waterfall down a rock/lava face. The view is pretty far away. No trails that I know of take you to the falls from the road overlook. It was raining so that did not help. Still worth a look.
Great parking space and views from far away but after 2 minutes, you realize there is not much to do here. I wish they had a trail going into the mountain for those who like to hike or spend more time around this area without paying for a boat and paddle.
Just a short drive up from Kapaa you will find a parking lot. This is where you park to view these falls. You cannot hike to these falls only view from a distance. It's a good way to spend a few minutes. It's a better view across the street of the Wailua River and surrounding valley.
