Great tour, very educational and fun! Our guide Gary was a wealth of information and jokes! We did the 30 minute tour but it actually lasted an hour. Great activity for all ages! If Gary is your guide he'll ask if you want recommendations on things to do on The Big Island...take him up on it, we did and we... 更多
This was a three hour extended tour that required about 20' of crawling, but the rest was pretty easy walking through lava tubes. The tour included hard hats with lights, gloves, knee pads and water. These lava tubes are really unique in the complexity and beauty of the features. We have toured many lava tubes and limestone and marble caves... 更多
I have been coming to the Big Island for over 11 years and had never heard of the Kula Kai Caverns. I just happened to pick up a brochure one day and thought it looked interesting. We took the 2 hour tour and it was worth it. You just need to make sure that you have long pants and closed... 更多
We had such a great time. Victor was our guide and he was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour too. We're so glad we chose the 2hr tour rather than the half hour tour - we got to crawl through some tricky places and up and down a "lava fall". We visited the cavern prior... 更多
This was an awesome tour. Crawling through the lava tubes was very interesting, learned alot about the area and how lava flows. Worth the side trip.
We had a great cave tour in February...the kids got to learn a lot and so did we! It's very cool to learn about how the caves were formed and get up close with the lava formations. We highly recommend this as a great, different, way to see the Island.
I live on the Big Island and have frequent visitors so I get to play "tourist" quite often. My daughter is visiting this week and wanted to see a lava tube. I hadn't heard of Kula Kai but it was suggested by a friend who had picked up a pamphlet somewhere. I've been to other lava tubes on the island... 更多
Our guide Emmanuel was knowledgeable and clearly loves his work! This lava tube is much more interesting than Thurston..... tree root systems tunneling thru, traces of early native water collection, lots of coloration; even tiny calcite stalagtites. If you like a little challenge and geology, you'll love this as much as we did. Seeing how folks lives on those lava... 更多
My husband did a lot of research on what he wanted to do while on the Big Island and this was one of his must dos. He had seen the reviews here on tripadvisor and we headed out to Kula Kai Caverns. It's on private land which was very interesting. The area is a lava field so you get see... 更多
I have always liked caves, but generally looked at Lava Tubes as less interesting as solution caves. Well, I changed my mind after visiting the Big Island . I had no idea,. 1st of all this Lava flow is less than 200 years old. That is like a micro-second in Geological terms ! So you see stuff you don't see... 更多
