John Muir started his expedition here. Not really why I liked it. Quiet and peaceful. The walk connects a series of parks, so you have restrooms and garbages along the way. Nice and breezy on a hot day.
I enjoy fishing around the Island. Various organizations I am involved with have hosted or attended events at the Pavilion and the grounds of the park.
Except for the ridiculous amount of mosquitoes, this is a great path by the river, going over the bridge, and providing about 2 miles of walking. There's also many entry points to the river (careful, the water is fast moving), a jungle gym for the kids, and a splash pad.
This is a very pleasant park...it fronts the river, has trees, grass, playground equipment, and picnic areas. However, this is nothing the traveler should go out of his way to visit other than to enjoy looking at the river.
We were searching for things to do in the area and came across some good reviews of this place right here on trip advisor so we decided to check it out. It was a pretty fun experience over all. Expedition Island is very beautiful, and there are a lot of events across the year that take place here. Sometimes it can be a little too packed, and as it is right on the river it is one of the WORST places in Green River to be in the summer. That's usually when travellers come to see it, and I... 更多
Nice place to hold a famly picinic with the river running on both sides of you. In the middle of the city Green River. Plenty of grass to stretch out on with a lovely river walk which goes around the whole island. If you want to continue to walk or bike the path goes for several miles following the river... 更多
This is where John Wesley Powell started his epic adventure of the Grand Canyon. The river is now choked with dams but the Island park still stands and takes visitors to a place in history that is off the beaten path. Do stop in Green River, a mining and railroad town on the route of the pony express.
Nice place to cool off after driving on Pilot Butte Loop. Especially if you have small kids. Well maintained green place on the river's island. Also there is a nice playground and quite a few sprinklers so it was a good spot to let our 3 years old boy rewind.
