Stopped here as part of our tour. Impressive view of the dam and a nice visitor center. Shows the building of the dam, small gift shop and clean rest rooms.
On our way to Yellowstone, we saw the sign for this and we stopped in. We really enjoyed our visit. Was neat to see the dam & the scenery around it. The gift shop inside had some nice finds. Definitely worth the stop. Neat place to get some good pictures.
The water level was very low this fall. They have been using it to assist with all of the forest fires in the area. I think it would have been prettier in the spring time when it was more full. But you drive right past it going into Yellowstone, so it's worth a stop.
Actually needed a place to kill time until we could check in to our hotel. We had planned on stopping at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, but the admission cost was a bit of a deterrent there. Nothing extraordinary here if you have been to other dams before. Nice look out walking across the dam and an interesting movie about the challenges of building it. The geology really makes this a spectacular place. The collision of two very different rock strata right at the dam is most noteworthy. Nice folks use a big golf cart to shuttle you from the parking area to the visitor's center, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The view from the dam down into the canyon can be a bit... 更多
I highly recommend,it has beautiful scenery and amazing history and shuttle transportation is nice. You can get great pics of outdoor scenery and gift shop is nice and employees very helpful.
