The Octagon House in Watertown, Wisconsin, also known as the Octagon House Museum or the John Richards Octagon House, was built in 1854 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

This is an interesting tour, but be aware that it involves a lot of steps. Not good for small children, strollers or those with problem going up and down steps. It's also VERY warm and stuffy in the house. It has a nice gift shop.
Octagon House is not only a unique structure for the area, but the grounds are also home to the nation's First Kindegarten. Watertown played an important role in the early days of WI.
