Through friends had heard the story of Tim Nelsen and the Bitter's and went to the pub to join the Bitter's Club. The bartender, Maddie, is excellent and explained the history. She loves her job and is a perfect fit for Nelsen's. Downed the shot and received my club certificate. The beer was pretty good too.
So Nelson's Hall is a typical Northern Wisconsin bar/restaurant. The food is good, the service was fine, and there's a back story here about Mr. Nelson. The place is set up like a typical Wisconsin supper club /bar. Food was good and service was good. Kids are supplied with crayons to draw on the paper covering tables. Beers on tap were quality. Island burger was good. They use good cheese here. Pictures on the walls were great.
Nice prime rib not overspilled cold drinks nice service. Not over crowded was seat yourself on Saturday night at 8 pm. Good prices and salad bar. Famous for drinking bitters
Stopped for dinner, but the rude and not friendly greeting we got from bartender, turned us off, and we left after one drink. Not even sure they noticed we left.
Arrived around 1500 for a drink and a burger. Bartender gave us a menu and walked away stating " need to make a phone call." Needless to say we left and went to Nelsens down the street. lunch was delicious, large menu, friendly staff, cool bar, legit country roadhouse atmosphere. my wife and I both enjoyed it, glad we stopped here in town.
