How can you go wrong with a free zoo and park? I have been here numerous times in the last two years since moving to the Baraboo area, and each time has been great. When we first moved to Baraboo we were pleasantly surprised to find a free zoo in town. Over the years we have visited many times with our children and then our grandchildren. The prairie dogs have always been our favorite! Along with the playground and picnic areas Ochsner Park is a really nice place to spend some time with family.
i love coming to see the monkeys, we used to feed the bear berries but they have now cut down all the trees surrounding the cage, bummed no ore berry feeding :-(
The zoo is free to the public and adjacent to a beautiful park. Pack a lunch and stay the day. The exhibits are close and well kept. There are animals you won't expect to see in a small town zoo. Did I mention it is free?
Heard about a free zoo and decided to check it out. My 3, 8, and 10 year old really enjoyed it! It is small but very well kept. You only need a 1/2 hour to see the whole zoo. Having said that, its very nice and best of all its FREE. Great for little kids and right next to a pretty park.
Bears...monkeys...big cats...goats...wolves....potbelly pigs....lots to see in a fabulous spot!! It's well taken care of. You can feed some of the animals.
