Tour the fascinating world of radio astronomy and see the pioneering instruments of the 1950's to the world's premier single-dish telescope, the GBT! Entrance to the science center is FREE, includes admission to the exhibit hall. We also feature the Starlight Cafe-nominated as WV's 101 Unique Places to Dine and the Galaxy Gift Shop with out of this world souvenirs and educational items.

Our most popular option is the telescope tour. Featuring science demonstrations and even a bus excursion through our gates into the RFI-restricted Zone I, the hour-long telescope tour takes you up-close to the world's biggest telescopes. The telescope tour is $6/adults, $5/seniors, Free/Kids 10&under, and Free/Veterans, Active Service Members.

If you are in the area don't miss this. If you are a space or science geek don't miss this. They have a welcome and visitor center. Tours are available.

We stumbled on this because it was a wet day! Very informative tour with Noreen. Interesting, educational exhibits.

For years I have wanted to go to the Green Bank Radio Observatory and after 21 years finally made it. I must say it was an interesting experience and quite educational. Also a lesson on how we humans can pollute the air with man made signals. I was told that you could be on Mars with your cell phone and... 更多

I am fascinated by celestial bodies-I love observing the night sky. In DC with so many lights, it is so hard to do. For some of us, that is not enough-out imagination and curiosity wants us to detect signals 20 billion light years away!! I had a great time here. Returning to DC, I passed by the Observatory. It was... 更多

Very educational. .Excellent staff. very good tour guides. Enjoyed the presentations however didn't like the food in the café took a long time to get I and it was terrible. I wouldn't not eat there again even though I would see observatory.

This place was nice. The tour was really educational. The science center part was smaller than I expected. We spent about 2 hours here. We really enjoyed it, but expected more. .

Well worth the visit. Be sure to take a film camera if you want pictures from less than 1 mile from the main antenna. ALL phones and cameras must be turned off when leaving the photo platform as they can interfere with the research. They'll explain during the theater presentation.

We were very excited to visit the observatory. We visited the exhibit room and our sons enjoyed that a great deal. Unfortunately, we arrived late in the day and were a part of the last bus tour. While the information was interesting, our guide spoke at mock 2 and drove nearly as fast. I'm sure he wanted to get home;... 更多

As a kid growing up in West Virginia, I knew about the radio dishes in Green Bank. It only took 50+ years to see it. My wife was not excited about our visit, and less so when learned we were the only folks on our tour. But it was fun and educational for both of us. There was a brief... 更多

Science and potential for communication with extraterrestrials come together in this location. A 2 acre telescope...WOW!!! Its the largest rotating radio telescope in the world. Parents and kids (15, 12 and 10) fully engaged through the whole tour which included video, exhibits and presentations. Fascinating tidbit was that a Russian billionaire contributed 100 million dollars to the program to ensure... 更多
