A quick walk from the parking lot down a broad, well-maintained pathway and steps lead to two different scenic overlooks of the falls. Probably around 200 steps total should make this an easy and convenient trek for most adults and children. Gift shop and snacks available at the store located within the parking lot.
Well worth the walk. Falls area is 200 steps down the boardwalk according to the signs. It did not seem like that many. Lots of good places to stop and get pictures of the falls as you walk down. Enjoyed this stop. Visitor center, good shift, restrooms and a little snack bar at the parking area
We spent about 4 hours in the park, went to the lookout over the mountains (Libby's Point? Can't remember the name) and had time to hike down a hard trek down to the river. Best part of the trip, nobody around because of the treacherous terrain, and wonderful views of the falls. The lookout for the falls are crowded, but... 更多
It's worth the trip to see blackwater falls! There are a good 100-200 steps down to it, which means you'll climb back up when you're done (so watch your knees and your heart rate). The park itself is very large and easy to navigate. Parking can be a little limited in some areas (Lindy Point), but both the falls and... 更多
A short hike to falls, but I did not see a handicap accessible way to get to the falls. You can walk from the lodge or drive to the parking lot for the falls.
Fortunately, our family of origin taught us to value all 4 sesons ofWV -- esp WinterSnow. Car trips wereexpected immediately following Sunday Church services, and we often drove thru Canaan Valley toBlack Water Falls SP. This sunday the Falls ParkingLot is filled with cars from OH, PA, VA,, MD, NC,WV. WV SPs are second to none. Montani Semper Liberi
Love the falls have been several times but it never gets old. Long walk down a stair walkway but worth the trip. There are two or three viewing platforms on the way. We found a new viewing platform across the river this time a little farther away from the falls but easier to travel. You can se the valley from... 更多
stayed in one of the cabins,,i recommend that you do the same,,watch driving at night,a lot of game that could prove dangerous to fast drivers,,and sharp bends and turns in the road,,loved it for the views and walking around,,didn't take as much time as i would have liked,,the cabin that i stayed in was far and above expectations,,very comfortable and... 更多
The lodge at Blackwater Falls State Park was built in the late 1950's and you can tell -- small, plain rooms with noisy AC. The housekeeping staff was quite attentive and the front desk personnel were most pleasant and helpful. There is a large TV/living room on the main floor -- we had plenty of space to play our games.... 更多
