The trail is interesting at all times of the year, about three miles one way. If you choose, you can hike up a side trail to a winery and do a tasting. This is an easy walk in a canyon so utterly different from the west side of the mountains that you feel you've really traveled. Absolutely worth it - beautiful views, well-kept trail, easy parking. We spotted a small lizard, which was a big hit with the kids. Highly recommended!

Definitely check this trail out to stretch your legs and enjoy fine desert scenery! Take the whole family, go as far or as little as you like. Great for mountain biking as well.
A small creek runs along the bottom of Cowiche Canyon so there is the sound of running water, birds and soft breezes to accompany you along the trail. Wild flowers in the spring, the scent of sage bush and occasional sightings of the mountains in the distance make this a welcome and hikeable trail.
