People on Vashon Island are relaxed and laid back. Staying at the bed and breakfasts is great because you have time to kick back and REALLY relax as one visitor said. The beaches are lovely and very walkable. There are a number of excellent restaurants on the island as well as coffee shops.
We moved to Vashon for 6 more while transitioning jobs. It is a magical place that is just a short ferry ride from Seattle, but feels like a hundred years ago. Farm stands dot the island. No one works at them, they are all on the honor system. The pace is slower, it is a rural community with deer everywhere,... 更多
Great day trip, or as I did, an overnight. I stayed in a VRBO that had private beach access, beautiful ocean views, and easy access. If you like scenery, walking and photography, it's perfect. If you like fishing, kayaking, or biking, it's perfect. If you like quaint shops, local artists, and good eating, it's perfect.

A good day to spend with the family or loved ones just to get away from the hustle and bustle but not too far away that... 更多
Won't be our last trip! The island is utterly beautiful, with so many scenic beaches and drives. We rented bicycles and toured around (very hilly!), which was a great way to see different parts of the island. We stayed at an Airbnb called Coach House at Wildwood that I cannot recommend more highly -- in a secluded spot surrounded by... 更多
Its easy to get by ferry from Tacoma terminal or from Seattle. From Tacoma its just 10-15 mins ride and return ticket is around $25 for two and the car. Explore the island during the day! July was blueberries season so we took advantage and picked berries. Blueberry bushes are everywhere and its hard to stop. You may visit lavender... 更多
It's easy to get to Vashon by the wonderful ferry system in place in Washington State. It takes just minutes, costs little, and you get to an island that reminds me of all Chappaquidick off of Martha's Vineyard. This island is quaint, sparsely populated, yet still close to one of America's great cities -- Seattle!
