A complete exploration of the Yakama nation with a small but interesting gift shop with locally made Indian crafts. Plan to spend about an hour.
A very well presented museum, well worth a visit. A good focus on the culture and traditions of the Yakama people. Also a very good shop selling handmade bead jewellery, books and clothes
I really enjoyed this museum while interacting with Yakama people on the Yakama Reservation. The Yakama use this venue to tell the world how they understand their history, which they value highly, so this is a really cool place to visit. There are lots of neat artifacts and explanations about Yakama life up to their assumption of sovereignty over civil... 更多
I thoroughly enjoyed an hour looking at displays and reading about the Yakama Nation history. So many sacred Native areas have been drowned by US-permitted damning across the country in recent decades, and the Yakama territory is no exception. I loved the personal touches of clothing beading work and the photos and brief stories of Yakama people's military service. The... 更多
We are drawn back to this Cultural Center quite frequently. We enjoy seeing the art work of the local artists of the Yakama Nation. The staff in the Gift Shop is friendly and provides background information about the local artists and happenings in the area. The exhibits in the museum are of interest and provide much information about the history... 更多
With excellent exhibits and easy to understand explanations, we left with a very good understanding of the Yakama Native American culture. The giftshop had very high quality merchandise. There is a large collection of literature that can be made available to researchers. We were very glad we stopped here.
This is a very nice and quiet cultural museum adjacent to a gift shop and the local library. Very few people there, but the exhibits and accompanying text looked up to date and well maintained. It was interesting to see the slice of local life streaming in and out of the library to provide a modern perspective to the history... 更多
I can only speak to the museum, but I did see signs for tent camping and an RV park. This museum is good. It tells the story of the Yakama (and yes, this is the correct spelling) Nation, Native Americans to anyone unfamiliar with this. It is nicely arranged with animal displays, disoramas, beautiful historic relics, and modern day items... 更多
