This is a very nice history tour with volunteers around sometimes in character and costume to tell the stories of the fort and its people.

We brought family from the East coast here and just loved the park like setting. The historical interpreters talked to us about the fort which was a Hudson's Bay outpost. There is also a small gift shop where we bought a replica of a Huggins mug. Later, we had a picnic just outside the fort and were visited by three... 更多

If there is a down side, there is no place to eat, unless you leave the park or picnic. Other than that, the staff is very helpful, the exhibits are well done and explained. Our grandsons especially enjoyed talking with one of the docents about what kids did in the 1840's.

Fort Nisqually represents what life was like in the 1800s if you lived in a fort in the Pacific Northwest. The staff were dressed in period costume and were knowledgable about the time period and very friendly. When we were there, on a Friday, there were no special events or demonstrations but it was still well worth the ($7) admission... 更多

Many years ago the old fort was moved to Point Defiance for park visitors to see. It is on the Five-Mile drive.

The weekend we were there, they had re-creation of old times with re-enactments of life and costumed participants…they were celebrating Queen Victorias Birthday!! (Go figure).

Fun accurate historical landmark. The volunteers who staff the buildings are incredibly knowledgeable and very excited to share what they know.

Fascinating history and the friendliest employees/volunteers. Everything was well maintained and the people were incredibly knowledgeable. Very informative and hands on visit.

Take a step back in time and experience what life was like as an 1850's Hudson's Bay Company employee. Frequently changing exhibits, first person re-enactors and special events make this a destination for repeat visits. Not to be missed!

This charming small complex in Point Defiance Park shows what a Hudson's Bay Company settlement, established nearby in 1833, looked like in 1855. Two of the fort's original structures -- the Factor's House and Granary -- were moved to the park and the rest of the buildings were recreated to look like the originals, which no longer exist. Volunteers and... 更多
