Having traveled much of 395 in California, I couldn't resist taking this northernmost stretch from Spokane to British Columbia. It requires patience nearer to Spokane as you're passing right through the heart of these little towns with their attendant traffic and speed controls, but this is the charm of country driving-rolling hills, small towns, and a quiet two lane road... 更多
395 is narrow and beautiful. Some people become impatient and want to pass when it is not safe. There are a lot of serious wrecks that could have been avoided. Enjoy the small towns along the way while heading north to Canada. One great stop is Colville. Take the time to stop and enjoy all of the sights. Drive safe!
Very scenic drive north of Spokane all the way to Canada. Many small towns and scenic spots, easy travel, little traffic, easy access to services.
this was a wonderful car ride. Winding roads up and down beautiful vistas. The road was usually two lane. Passed through many small towns (watch out for the speed zones!!)Had a picnic at one of the many sites that has picnic table, garbage cans and bathrooms!
The drive on 395 between Spokane and Sandpoint is well worth the extra time. It goes into the foothills and follows the Pend Oreille river. The views are spectacular and it is a must to stop and take advantage of trails and short driving detours. We made a morning of the drive and it was well worth it.
Took 395 from Spokane to the Canadian Border. Lots to see along the way especially the beautiful scenery. There are some interesting towns North of Spokane and of course there are the Columbia, Colville and Kettle Rivers to drive beside. Kettle Falls and Chewelah are two towns worth visiting if only for and hour for a break. Lots of history... 更多
We are about 95 miles northwest of Spokane and have recently been making the trip fairly often. There are some historical small towns off the highway that can be fun to explore.
Great views of the PNW. Average speed is 60 MPH except when traveling through towns. Deer are quite often on the road so pay extra attention when traveling at night.
Spokane is a great city and definitely worth a visit. The people are great, the city is beautiful, and driving along Highway 395 affords wonderful views of nature. Definitely visit!
