Just off the main road, there is the ability to pick and pay for your collection of farmed oysters. This is a beautiful bay, looking out over the ocean and the path of the ferries going through. The area, in Olga, is really quiet and peaceful.
I love oysters so this was a must do on my stop in Orcas Island. We got a dozen oysters for $16. Considering we are shucking these ourselves and not at a restaurant, I thought the price was quite high. You pick the oysters you want from a basket and they'll set it up in an ice tray. I've gotten... 更多
Just a short drive from moran st park we left to go out to eat a wrong turn, turned out right. They were just getting ready to close ( about 5:00)The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I stayed at the Buck Bay Getaway in late August. It's a one bedroom older mobile home right next to the farm. The place was nice and clean. The location is far from the ferry and 20 minutes from Eastsound but right on the bay. It was a great private location. The area is nice for relaxing... 更多
Basic place but a fun experience. You go into a shed, pick out some oysters, clams, crab. They give you condiments and off you go to a picnic table. We noticed that people were bringing in coolers. They must have brought their own beer. Beer would have been great! Seating is limited. The bees were buzzing all over the platter... 更多
If you love oysters, this is a mandatory stop on Orcas. The super friendly staff will teach you to shuck if necessary. Then, sit back under the trees and enjoy a lazy dozen (or two) that have been freshly pulled the beds that are right in front of your eyes. Kids will love the farm atmosphere. It's very informal and... 更多
Food was delicious! We enjoyed picking out our own oysters and learning about the different types and flavors of each. We also enjoyed the whole pre-cooked crab and smoked salmon! Much better than going to crowded restaurant in town!
We had read about the Buck Bay Shellfish Farm and decided to drive over (nothing is a very long drive on Orcas Island). The girls were helpful in picking out some clams and halibut. Took them back to the vacation home we rented and I steamed the clams. First time to cook clams. My wife said they were the best... 更多
We enjoyed our experience of shucking our own oysters so much we went twice! It was fun, casual and the oysters were delicious. The second time we went we brought nibbles like crackers and cheese and some nice wine which was a great addition to the ambiance!
This place has the best oysters and clams I've ever eaten. My wife and I spent a week in a cottage on the island and we bought our dinner here three nights. Oh, and the Dungeness crab and smoked salmon were also extremely good. Don't skip this place if you like shellfish
