Lots of little shops with trinkets for every price range. Good food and lots of beer. I would love to visit in the snow.
A day trip and short drive to to the lovely Bavarian themed village of Leavenworth, Washington. Also called Icicle Village by historians. Lots of shops to browse and buy, many specialized food shops, including chocolates, pretzels and wine. Many restaurants to choose from. Several places to stay, some right downtown overlooking the main street and gazebo area.
This place is a very relaxing spot to just sit and watch the people, buildings and mountain scenery. There are public bathrooms available, and it is very close to shops and restaurants.
I had fun walking through the heart of Leavenworth and passing through this well-kept park area. We were there on a festival weekend, and there were lots of people enjoying the day. There were musicians performing in the gazebo. The atmosphere is so fun!
At 9th and Front streets in the heart of Leavenworth is a delightful park with a Maypole. This is the center of town and a popular venue for events, such as musical recitals and Oktoberfest. I understand from locals that Christmastime displays are spectacular. There are information kiosks that feature free brochures, and the Visitor Center is two blocks away.... 更多
We enjoyed going to Front Street Park, which is a centerpiece of the downtown area of Leavenworth. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. We had fun listening to a German band. Young children and their parents were dancing. There was also art in the park. There were several vendors. Close by to the park, one can also go on... 更多
We spent time in this park this morning while we waited for the shops to open at 10:00. A nice spot to sit, since it has so many benches.
