Pioneer Park is a local park towards the south limits of La Conner. There are a few trails and some good views over the inlet and the waterways. Pedestrian access to the Rainbow Bridge is via the trails withn the park. There are several picnic areas with seats and tables ... would be perfect on a hot summer day.
One of our favorite walks is down through the park, under Rainbow Bridge and down into the town of La Conner. There's a hill or stairs to walk down depending on your path. You can picnic or have a family gathering here. Restrooms are available.
This is a great little park if you are looking to get some cardio in the morning. I'd suggest doing the loop a couple of times. I crossed the bridge to the opposite side of the channel and had a four mile round trip walk.
It is more than "Just a Park". It is a natural site covered with trees at a high elevation that overlooks the Rainbow Bridge. We stopped there looking to do some walking because our brochure said there were many paths there. There were some lovely picnic tables and a short path to the underside of Rainbow bridge. That was about it. Wasn't worth getting the kids out of the car for.
