If you go mid-week, it is really kind of dead besides the charters for fishing, and they are usually done by noon. But on Saturday - that is the ticket! It seems like a few more shops have closed up this year unfortunately.
We went to the Port of Ilwaco Boardwalk. The area has a marina, restaurants, fishing and boat charters, art galleries, some cafes and restaurants. One can also purchase fresh seafood. There is also some places to stay. Its a pretty area.
Location was very close to Long Beach where we were staying. The boardwalk is very nice on a sunny day, a little chilly on a windy day. If you like boats it's a great place to see a variety of them. The Saturday market is small but nice with plenty of variety.
Always a fun place to visit, but especially on Saturdays when they have the crafters market. Some really good vendors here, along with the usual collection of produce, floral, et.
You can get a great seafood lunch while looking out over the marina. The seafood is right off the boat and you can either take some home or eat one of the restaurants there and afterwards take a nice stroll down the boardwalk. There is a huge parking lot that will accommodate even the largest of RV's. Fishing Charters available... 更多
Spent the night at the Salt Hotel on the boardwalk. A great little bare bones, clean, comfortable room.We didn't have time for much exploring and kind of regret that. On one of the Trip Advisor forms I was advised I wouldn't find much in Ilwaco. We disagree as we found the Peninsula scenic, charming and worthy of a long weekend... 更多
Was leaving the Long Beach peninsula and stopped by the boardwalk area. Met some of the locals who were friendly, willing to talk with you, shared a bit of their personal stories and made you feel at ease. It's interesting to see what they have carved out for themselves in this seaside curve in the road. Proud community.
Well-maintained boardwalk for walking, ocean gazing, and bird watching with several beach access points. There are lots of native dune grasses that separate the boardwalk from residences so it doesn't feel like you're in someone's front yard when you are on the boardwalk.
The Long Beach Peninsula is all about laid back family fun with a sprinkling of escaping-it-all retirees and just a touch of grit. If you were looking for something a little upscale here, it's not incongruous then that that place would smell of fish What was once and is still a full working harbor, replete with salmon boats, pilot boats... 更多
Just passing through town we stopped at the Saturday Market on the waterfront. We enjoyed the good variety of local people who brought goods to sell. I bought some raw honey.
