Great place for family day. We were there just for the beach, not for the hiking. Kids loved this place. Water was warm, but beach a little bit rocky. We spent there all day and were very happy. My advice is: go there after 1pm, I think it's most comfortable time for this place.
The park has a long water front that is rocky like most beaches on Hoods Canal. One unique feature is a small pool that fills with water as the tide comes in. Nestled in the woods behind the beach are many picnic benches and small covered areas. Across highway 106 there is a two mile loop trail that goes through... 更多
Twanoh State Park is on the South edge of Hood Canal (the only fjord in the contiguous united states) There is a large day use area with a swimming area, many picnic tables as well as oysters to harvest and clams to dig, both with license of course. Twanoh is on the edge of the Hoh Rain Forest and has... 更多
This is a LARGE park with nice hiking trails, but beware of bears. There is a 2.5 mile hiking trail through some pretty interesting forest with gigantic trees and lots of wonderful plants. This was originally built by the CCC and they were in the process of doing some restoration work while we were there. The beach is pebbly and... 更多
Lots of tables, shade, great place for kids to go into water.and explore. Just off the main road so easy to find. A fun place to spend the day. Not far from Alderbrook Resort and Hoodsport.
Simply nature at its best. Gorgeous! I would sleep on the ground to wake up in such amazing beauty. Worth the trip. Worth a weekend. Great for kids and families, great for all.
My husband and I have went on a hike in Twanoh State Park over Memorial Weekend. It was a very scenic, well kept trail. There was a small creek running parallel to the trail so you could hearing the water running which gave the hike an even greater experience with the sounds of nature. Would recommend.
